Andreea’s work investigates forms of embodiment, the grotesque and its cultural associations with the sexual saturation of the feminine by deconstructing the body as a means of transgression. By shifting conventional parameters of the materiality of existence, she aims to translate non-physical experiences such as impermanence, disembodiment and displacement into tangible forms.

She’s interested in the spectacle of bodies in intense physical and emotional states, voyeuristic pleasure, fetishism, and the manipulation of aesthetic distance in relation to the abject. Andreea sculpts new, reformulated, fluid identities, where her objects become a visceral stage for the psyche to perform itself.
